Sherman & Howard L.L.C. has officially named Diana Wendel Manager of its Real Estate Group. Ms. Wendel will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 18 attorneys in the group out of Sherman & Howard's offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Vail and Steamboat Springs.
"Diana will be a terrific leader for all of the same reasons that she is such a good lawyer," says Rebecca Anderson Fischer, a Member of the Firm's Executive Committee practicing in the Real Estate Group. "She's smart, tireless and inventive in resolving questions and closing deals in our Real Estate practice, and she has already begun putting those talents to work since taking the management reins of the Practice Group, to the benefit of our group, our Firm, and our clients."
Ms. Wendel joined Sherman & Howard in 1988. Her commercial real estate practice includes common interest community law, land use and development, commercial leasing, real estate acquisition and sales, resort planning, and multi-state real estate transactions. Ms. Wendel's experience covers a broad spectrum, including acquisitions of businesses in transactions involving financing, real estate and operational issues, environmental issues, permitting issues and title issues in multiple states. Ms. Wendel earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1988, and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Denver in 1985.
The Real Estate Practice Group represents clients engaged in every facet of the real estate industry, including developers, lenders, investors, brokers and others who finance, buy, sell, develop and lease property of every kind. The group's attorneys are experienced in the development of mixed-use, luxury resort and corporate, industrial and medical campus projects, as well as in the redevelopment of urban renewal areas, former federal enclaves and military bases. Sherman & Howard's Real Estate attorneys work regularly with attorneys in other practice areas within the Firm to provide a full range of legal services to real estate clients.
Sherman & Howard L.L.C., established in Denver in 1892, recently combined with Wear, Travers & Perkins, PC, a leading Vail-based law firm focusing on real estate development, common interest communities and general real estate law. This move has brought a seventh office to Sherman & Howard's practice, which also includes offices in Colorado Springs and Steamboat Springs, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; and Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada.
