Randy Funk Named President of LDS India Bangalore MissionWill Begin Three-Year Sabbatical in May April 19, 2010, DENVER - Sherman & Howard announces that Randy D. Funk, a member in the firm's real estate and public finance practices, has been named President of the India Bangalore Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Mr. Funk will begin a three-year leave from the firm on May 1 and begin his three-year term in India, as Mission President on July 1. He plans to return to Sherman & Howard following this appointment. Mr. Funk and his wife Andrea will reside in Bangalore, known as the Garden City and "Silicon Valley" of India. In addition to leading the missionaries assigned to Southern India, many of whom are from India, the Funks will have responsibility for 26 congregations in the south half of India and Sri Lanka. Mr. Funk has served the LDS Church in a number of leadership roles. He has been serving as an Area Seventy and is a former stake president, bishop and missionary in Indonesia. Mr. Funk received his law degree from The University of Utah College of Law in 1979. He received his undergraduate degree from Utah State University in 1976.
