Firm Also Ranks Highly in Colorado and Nevada

February 3, 2009 - The law firm of Sherman & Howard/Swendseid & Stern* ranked second in the nation last year as bond counsel on competitively sold bond issues (up from fourth in 2007), sixth in the nation as Disclosure Counsel (up from eleventh in 2007) and twelfth in the nation as Bond Counsel (up from thirteenth in 2007) based on total par amount of all bond offerings according to the most recent rankings released by Thomson Reuters.

Nevada Rankings

The firm, which practices in Nevada as Swendseid & Stern, finished first in Nevada in 2008 as both Bond Counsel and Disclosure Counsel, both by total par amount of all bond issues and by the number of bond issues. The firm served as Bond Counsel on 36 offerings in 2008, involving a total par amount of $3.813 billion (up from $3.155 billion in 2007).

Colorado Rankings

In Colorado, the firm finished first in 2008 as Disclosure Counsel for the total par amount of all bond issues, and second as Bond Counsel, both by total par amount of all issues and by number of issues. The firm served as Bond Counsel on 52 offerings involving a total par amount of $2.142 billion in 2008. The firm also finished fourth in terms of the number of bond offerings for which it served as underwriters counsel.
