Move Strengthens Presence for Phoenix-Based and Denver-Based Firms
Denver - Jan. 5, 2009 - Sherman & Howard L.L.C., the firm with the second greatest number of attorneys in Denver, announced today that it has combined its firm with Phoenix-based Mohr, Hackett, Pederson, Blakley & Randolph, P.C. The move, along with a combination with Denver-based Netzorg McKeever Koclanes & Bernhardt LLC, which the firm also announced today, brings Sherman & Howard's total number of attorneys to more than 190 and adds a ninth office in Scottsdale, AZ, to the firm's existing operations in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada and Missouri.
The combination significantly bolsters the depth and breadth of both firms. The Mohr Hackett team offers a broad array of experience and services in corporate law, real estate, commercial litigation, estate planning and taxation, bankruptcy, and employment law, among other areas. The combination will allow Sherman & Howard to offer full-service capabilities to clients of both firms in a critical regional market.
"We couldn't be more pleased to welcome the attorneys of this fine law firm to the Sherman & Howard family," said the firm's Chief Executive R. Michael Sanchez. "The Mohr Hackett addition significantly expands our footprint in Phoenix, offering a deeper array of services to our clients in that marketplace, but also to other Sherman & Howard clients who do business in Phoenix.
"Ranked #6 on Forbes.com's ‘Best Places for Business' in 2006, Phoenix is a vibrant, thriving business center in the Rocky Mountain West. Having a larger team there achieves one of our firm's growth goals, and allows us to better attract other high-quality attorneys as we continue to grow."
Commenting on the deal, Mohr Hackett Founding Shareholder Robert C. Hackett said, "With an ever changing business climate, it is important to provide greater capabilities and services to existing and future clients. The combination of both of our firms strengthens our commitment to our clients."
Commenting on the transition, Sanchez noted that there would be no disruption in service to clients of either firm. "We will continue to serve our clients as they like to be served - through a central point of contact who has a deep understanding of the client's business, and assures that all the client's legal needs are served by the various practice areas of the firm," he said. "Bringing Mohr Hackett on board makes Sherman & Howard a much stronger presence in this region, and we're certain that their attorneys will contribute immensely to our continued success."
It is expected that Sherman & Howard's attorneys in Phoenix will move into the Mohr Hackett offices during the course of the next few months.
