Firm Among Top Five Nationally on Build America Bonds
January 19, 2011 - The law firm of Sherman & Howard/Swendseid & Stern again finished at the top of Colorado and Nevada Bond Counsel rankings for 2010 - both as bond counsel and disclosure counsel. In Colorado, Sherman & Howard served as bond counsel on 42 percent of the municipal bonds issued in 2010, based on par amount. In Nevada, Sherman & Howard served as bond counsel on a substantial majority of the municipal bonds issued.
Sherman & Howard ranked among the top five bond counsel in the United States on Build America Bonds. The firm finished among the top seven as disclosure counsel and, representing clients as bond counsel on a total par amount of $7 billion in bonds, ranked #14 nationally as bond counsel based on total par amount of all bond offerings according to the most recent rankings released by Thomson Reuters.
Colorado Rankings
In Colorado, the firm again finished first in 2010 as both bond counsel and disclosure counsel for the total par amount of all bond issues. Sherman & Howard served as bond counsel on 73 offerings in 2009, involving a total par amount of just over $3 billion.
Nevada Rankings
Ranked #1 in Nevada as both bond counsel and disclosure counsel, the firm, which practices in Nevada as Swendseid & Stern, closed 68 bond offerings in Nevada in 2010. These offerings represented a total par amount of just over $3.7 billion.
