John Alan Doran Joins Sherman & Howard

July 1, 2011 (PHOENIX) - Sherman & Howard announces that John Alan Doran, formerly a partner with Greenberg Traurig, has joined the Firm as a member of the Phoenix office. Mr. Doran joins the Firm's Labor & Employment practice. He brings to Sherman & Howard more than 20 years of experience representing clients primarily in the areas of labor and employment, appellate and litigation.

Mr. Doran's labor & employment practice covers a broad range of services ranging from client counseling and prevention strategies, to litigation, to appeals. He has represented clients in mass employment and wage/hour class and collective action litigation; employment discrimination and wrongful termination litigation; ERISA litigation; non-competition, trade secret, and unfair competition litigation; arbitration; traditional labor law and union avoidance; OSHA compliance and defense; and many other issues.

As an appellate lawyer, Mr. Doran has argued multiple cases to the Arizona Supreme Court and the Arizona Court of Appeals, as well as dozens of cases in the federal appellate system. In the area of litigation, he has represented clients on a wide range of subjects, from commercial lease disputes to political asylum, civil rights deprivation, commercial contracts and personal injury matters.

Chambers USA gives Mr. Doran its highest rating in labor and employment law. He is also recognized by Best Lawyers and has been included among the "Best of the Bar" in Arizona. He is nationally recognized as a lecturer in labor and employment and a regular instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Doran received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1988. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1985.
