Sherman & Howard L.L.C./Swendseid & Stern* Ranked First in the United States as Bond Counsel, Competitive Sales, on New Bond Issues for the First Nine Months of 2008

The law firm of Sherman & Howard L.L.C./Swendseid & Stern* ranked first in the United States as Bond Counsel, Competitive Sales, on new bond issues for the first nine months of 2008 according to the most recent rankings released by Thomson Financial. The firm also ranked seventh in the United States as Disclosure Counsel for U.S. Municipal New Bond Issues.

During the first nine months of 2008 the Firm acted as Bond Counsel, Competitive Sales, on 22 issues involving an overall par amount of $2.2573 billion and was ranked first in the country in this category (up from the Firm's sixth place ranking for the first nine months of 2007). The firm served as Disclosure Counsel on 35 issues involving an overall par amount of $2.8968 billion and was ranked seventh in the country in this category (up from the Firm's twelfth place ranking for the first nine months of 2007).

Sherman & Howard has been continuously listed in the "Municipal Bond Attorneys" section of The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace (The Red Book) since that publication first started listing municipal bond attorneys in about 1939.

Rankings and volume totals in Thomson Financial's standard league tables include all long-term municipal new issues, of which Thomson Financial was made aware, underwritten during the period from January 1, 2008 to September 30, 2008. The standard league tables are based upon a single set of globally consistent criteria, submission guidelines, transaction classifications, and eligibility rules, which allow for accurate analysis of transactions from around the world.
