Sherman & Howard's business and real estate attorneys represent developers and operators of ski areas and villages, golf resorts and conference centers in all aspects of resort development and operation. We have considerable experience in the development and financing of condominiums, hotels and fractional ownership projects, and we routinely represent resort areas in connection with the permit requirements of the U.S. Forest Service. We also work on hospitality-related agreements, including licensing, management and marketing agreements. Our resort projects include residential, retail, hotel and ski village projects in Truckee California; a hotel, condominium and fractional ownership project in Avon, Colorado; the renovation and expansion of a hotel condominium, retail and fractional ownership development at the Beaver Creek Resort in Colorado; the development of a high-end resort development with a private ski lift in the Town of Mountain Village, Telluride, Colorado; the financing of a multi-use development in Old Town Steamboat Springs, Colorado; the sale of a ski area hotel, conference center, golf course, lodge and related single family lot; the creation of an urban renewal authority; and the adoption of a plan to revitalize the downtown area of a mountain resort community.
